I’d recommend doing this when in Japan as you probably won’t have the opportunity to zip around this massive city in red go-karts dressed as your favorite characters. The 3-hour long route was worth it as you got to see a larger area of the city. Driving through the streets of Tokyo, especially in costume, gives you the chance to experience the city from a completely new perspective. From the busy streets of Shibuya to the iconic Rainbow Bridge, this experience covers a variety of landscapes and city highlights. The excitement of weaving through traffic, with the wind in your hair and the city lights all around you, makes it all the more fun. The GoPro footage of the ride will capture all the thrill, so make sure to bring one with a head mount. (Note: you need an international driver’s license before you can do this activity, although it’s not hard to drive a go-kart really.) Whether you’re a Tokyo first-timer or a seasoned local, this is an experience you don’t want to miss!
This was one of the craziest and most enjoyable experiences during our stay in Tokyo. The staff who meet and greet you at the base are friendly and accommodating. The karts are surprisingly fast yet safe, complete with seat belts (optional), mirrors, headlights, indicators, a horn, and basic faring in the spirit of the original go-kart games. There is a huge range of thematic costumes available, from Minions to Superman, with Mario and Luigi being the staples. The tour guides take you around many of the city’s most iconic landmarks including Tokyo Tower, Shibuya Crossing, and Rainbow Bridge. The guides do an excellent job of ensuring you stay safe while navigating the streets, but you still need to keep your street smarts about you. This should definitely be on your Tokyo bucket list. Tip: If you’re planning the evening tour, be sure to dress warmly, as it can get chilly when the sun goes down.
This tour was incredible, much better than we expected. The most impressive moment was crossing Rainbow Bridge and seeing how the city lit up. Seeing Tokyo Tower up close was something I’ll never forget. The guide was very professional and made sure everything went smoothly. We did the tour in the afternoon, and the temperature was perfect, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you’re in Tokyo, you can't miss this.
Unforgettable experience! Highly recommend this attraction while you visit Tokyo. Make sure to get an international driver’s license, as it’s required in Japan. The easiest way to book is through their Facebook page. We booked a 3-hour tour and had a blast! It was an amazing experience driving street karts on Tokyo’s freeways, bridges, and streets.
